Where is everyone?

Just checking in!

I was wondering where the book is now? Is there an updated scheduale somewhere? I thought I had it saved but am not finding it, and the one at the right of the blog is way off.

I hope everyone is having a wonderfully creative summer!!!!!!

Posting for Arindam

Hi Everyone, KA here posting on behalf of dear Arindam. Enjoy!

Hi,

best wishes to my dear artists and friends.
here i am attaching my teaser. sorry for getting so late. i had to go through some natural and some other problems. i could not start and finish in time. i understand the excitement of the artists waiting for the travelling sketch book. it is now on its way to UAE.

as i did not submit the about me topic before, i am telling something now.

i am a self taught artist. i have never visited an art school. i started my schooling in Calcutta. I had my high school studies in Chandannagar, and also the graduation in Accountancy ( though i did not like the subject ) from Chandannagar Govt. College. this place inspired me a lot to play with pencil and colours. the city has a historical value. once upon a time Chandannagar was a French colony and there are old buildings, old-church, strand-road beside the river. all these told me to scratch on paper and i started. as i had no technical training i followed the artists wherever i saw them. i followed everything they did. i followed how they mix colours, how they move the brusses. this went on. after a few years some children came to me to learn the basics of drawing. i became a little popular among the children of my locality.
later on an ad agency called me to join as designer. i worked there for a couple of years doing graphic designing in computer. this time also i taught myself in creating and handling a design in computer . actually the training courses were expensive and unaffordable for me. now i am a freelance graphic designer and i work from home.i love my job. i keep on practising pencil works too. i have two blogs showing some of my works. those are, www.arindamart.blogspot.com and www.aritoons.blogspot.com .
as subject of drawing i have always loved the people around me. i love reading the dimensions of human character and the studying the expressions that come out on face . i love children. i want to do something for the street children. i am worried about the future of the children playing beside the road. so in my travelling sketch book also i have worked on a street child.
i wish good luck to this book and the great project.
love,

My New Portfolio site - BUNNYGO

I'm glad the sketchbook is still moving. We may have to change our banner to be 2009. : )

In the meantime, I've been working on improving my illustration work and building a new portfolio site to better showcase my skills. In this economy, I'd love nothing more than to get more freelance illustration work.

I completed work on the new site, so here is an thumbnail of the site. You can visit the site at www.bunnygo.com. BUNNYGO is my illustration brand. Feel free to stop by, check out my work, comment on my blog, or generally just stay in touch while we wait for the book to make its around-the-world trip. Best to all of you.

Hi Everyone... this is KA posting a teaser for Poet Nataly because her town has been experiencing major computer crashes- to include the post office.

She has sent the book off to Gil... but it takes ten days to travel from Russia to China... WOW!

Enjoy her piece... it's lovely!

UPDATE

Hi Everyone...

Just want to let you know that it appears the sketchbook is stuck somewhere in Russia? Poet Nataly has still not received it... but NO FEAR! Pascal sent it insured! Smart man!

He will let me know where it is once he finds out.

Thank you all for your patience... but the mail is beyond our control, isn't it? :-)

I know a few of you had vacation requests and I will still honor them, but this project is clearly going to take a little longer than anticipated, so we'll work with each of you on an individual basis to make sure the book doesn't come when you are out.

Thanks for hanging in there... it will be worth it!

My very best to you and warmest wishes,
KA Compson
